Hello and welcome,
I want to extend a warm greeting to you all! Welcome to Kingston. Welcome to Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, the sailing venue for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. What a wonderful coincidence that we are hosting the Canadian Championships as the ILCAs compete in the Tokyo Olympics.
We are looking forward to some tremendous freshwater racing in the coming days.
As many of you know, a great deal of planning has gone into making this regatta a reality. We are still in a pandemic trying to give you the best on-water and on-site experience possible. Processes and procedures that you may have been familiar with at past regattas here in Kingston may have changed, and new ones added. I will be asking for your patience and good-naturedness as we sail through this regatta.
We look to deliver all the racing we can, weather permitting, with the new Tim Irwin signal boat and a cracker-jack race management crew.
Good luck to all the sailors!
George
