Day 3 of Kieler Woche had the following presentations:
For the full panel,
- Hannes Diefenbach, GER, IJ/NRO the issues with hearing ORC protests, where to find the appropriate rules and certificates.
- Manuel Ken Gamito, POR, IJ reviewed new cases: , Serious Damage, , Redress, and , Right of Appeal.
For the NJ training, Jacob Andersen, IJ/NU, discussed RRS interpretations.
One of the primary purposes Chairman Sloan started running organized training at major events was to not only provide continuing education, but to prepare the jury for the particular event. The training provides the platform for unifying the jury and making their decisions more uniform and consistent both on and off the water. And the training is structured to prepare the jury for what is expected in the regatta. For example, in the full panel training Case was discussed, and that very evening the jury heard a protest where Case 142 applied.
