In the TRANSAT CIC we have three ZONES TO PROTECT CETACEANS.....what about the DEFINITION of Zone & Obstruction ?
The text says:
CETACEAN PROTECTION ZONE (ZPC) Area prohibited to navigation to minimize the risk of collision between ships and marine fauna. It represents an area of migration, reproduction and feeding.
LISTED SPECIES North Atlantic whale, sperm whale, fin whale, pilot whale, humpback whale, minke whale, blue whale and orca

If you have quoted the text exactly it is an exclusion zone for ships. Ships carry a ship's boat. Class 40 boats, to the best of my knowledge, do not carry a ship's boat, and therefore may not be covered by the exclusion. However, my translation tool says that 'embarcacion' may include any type of water going vessel. To avoid confusion I would suggest that the OA should specify it as an exclusion zone in the SIs.

Hi Ant: I think that the race must be outside the CETACEAN PROTECTION ZONE (ZPC)....... in the S.I. the ZPC could be EZ "exclusion zone" as you said.
Does anybody know, where are the S.I. of this race ?
Cheers !!! Cata

Section 8.3 paragraph 4 : '...may do so for a technical pitstop, having obtained the approval of RM...' So, generally it is an exclusion zone.
