What Retirements Does

The Retirements feature provides an electronic way for competitors to notify the race committee that they have retired from a race. Instead of calling on the radio or finding a committee boat, competitors can submit a retirement directly from their phone while still on the water. Retirements are logged with a number, date, and reason, and the race committee is notified immediately.

Enabling and Submitting

Enable Retirements by editing your event and selecting Retirements in Event Settings. Once enabled, competitors can submit a retirement from the Actions menu on the public event pages without signing in. They identify their boat, the race number, the date of retirement, and optionally a reason. The race committee receives an email notification for each submission.

Tracking Retirements

Officials view all retirement submissions from the Retirements page in the Event Panel, sorted by date and retirement number. Retirements can also be exported as a PDF. The scorer should use the retirement log to ensure all retirements are correctly reflected in the scoring system, particularly for boats that retired mid-race without finishing.
